The answer is “Lord Save Us…”: Anne Rice on Quitting Christianity: Homebrewed Christianity 83 | Homebrewed Christianity

For those who care, and I understand if you don’t: Today I quit being a Christian. I’m out. I remain committed to Christ as always but not to being “Christian” or to being part of Christianity. It’s simply impossible for me to “belong” to this quarrelsome, hostile, disputatious, and deservedly infamous group. For ten years, I’ve tried. I’ve failed. I’m an outsider. My conscience will allow nothing else.

Anne Rice has an audience who can deal with her message.

Many of those who have abandoned Christianity don’t have that audience. But maybe if they looked at Lord Save Us From your Followers they would be able to understand why there is so many of the issues around what Anne is talking about in her Facebook post about why she “quit” (she couldn’t “”belong” to this quarrelsome, hostile, disputatious, and deservedly infamous group.” any more)…
