Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) recently posted a Spotlight page showcasing the recent project by a local fraternity to raise awareness & donations for the homeless here is Savannah, GA..
We were very pleased to support & interact with the AASU Pi Kappa Alpha (PIKES) recently when they conducted their #48hourshomeless (we tagged all our tweets, referenced & included below) project!
We took the opportunity to contact them through the WTOC station & AASU Marketing folks & took a ride out to AASU on the Friday night they started their project.
Their project was highlighted in a teaser on the WTOC 4PM News Now cast & we had to see their full coverage on the 5:30PM news that Friday.
Another local TV station, WSAV, covered the project too on Feb 27 with a great wrap-up story after the event was over!
Off we went to connect with them & attempt to broaden the reach of these students project to allow them to connect with the homeless population outside of Savannah too who are very active in their community through Social Media (Facebook & Twitter in particular).
We posted a story about this event over on our VoxPatria in Savannah Blogs (wordpress & blogspot blogs) with players for the interviews we did on Saturday night as the PIKES continued their project of sleeping out on campus as homeless students!
These digital phone recordings were made possible by our sponsor Evoca, the leading global voice to web service!
Here are our tweets from the event (with TwitPics/Thanks to Noah & his Team!):
