Savannah’s Answer to World Homeless Day 10/10/11

World Homeless Day 10/10/11.

We didn’t put together an event for this year, sorry for that, but it’s been an interesting year!

We are now out of our own homelessness & working hard this political season to raise awareness of other approaches to ending chronic homelessness that our community should take a look at & support as a community.

We have often said it’s not just the job of the government, social services sector or local non-profits to end homelessness but it’s the job of all of us to serve the Lord & take care of His people, the needy, poor & homeless!

So we march on with this on our hearts to raise awareness of the viability of a Housing First model to address chronic homelessness in Savannah & make a better life for our chronic homeless!

Help us raise awareness & “Like” this post so we can get some support rolling for a Housing First model in Savannah & vote at the ballot box for those elected officials who say they will work for it & support it when the time comes!

These Housing First models in other communities have been proven to save taxpayers money – that should help with the candidates, right?

We don’t know how it would be implemented in Savannah yet as others have to sign-on to the approach & develop the model for Savannah!

But let’s engage in a meaningful discussion of the ways to bring it together here for our community!
