More collaboration needed Mrs Mayor: Seized shirts, sheets will help Savannah’s needy | savannahnow.com

Thanks Mayor Edna Jackson for recognizing the opportunity for collaboration in the community to address homelessness & bringing dignity to the homeless or recently housed!

We have a huge example of an opportunity for even more significant collaboration that seems to be alluding the Salvation Army & the Chatham-Savannah Authority for the Homeless!

We call on you & the City Council to initiate a full-scale review of this opportunity & address a need that’s been festering for quite a while.

We MUST address Ending Chronic Homelessness in a most dignified manner with the adoption by City Council of an initiative to bring Housing First models to Savannah for the chronic homeless.

There is much to be gained for many in the community by addressing this issue! We call for the Visit Savannah, Tourism Leadership Council, CSAH, all the members of their CoC, the Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of the Coastal Empire & the full breadth of the Faith Community to be brought together into some form of Task Force for a full charrette process to evaluate possible solutions at the earliest possible time.

We are ready to engage in this process with the City & any other parts of the community desiring to be part of this process!
