One of our Facebook friends posted a link today to a website which analyzes an author’s writing sample & tells them who they write like!
So, I tried it on this piece of hence unpublished writing that sits in a Draft for this blog:
Is it time for taking our grassroots efforts to the next level?
What would / could / should that next level be you ask?
This referenced blog post talks about a lot of grassroots efforts in our country, taking our future back!
We were extremely happy to see the mention of homelessness grassroots efforts, albeit in NYC, one of the most active & controversial homeless centers in our country.
Politics are rampant, efforts are moving & focus is there with broad collaborations as referenced in the article linked to in the quote above!
So where is all that collaboration here in Savannah?
Not sure how to answer that today as we have seen a lot of coverage of homelessness here, a lot of coverage also of our Homeless Authority being in disarray & the boasting of a new day at the CSAH!
We’ve written about all that & in fact most recently tried to raise a sense of urgency too.
You see, we are mired in the efforts to get this situation under control, with some great commitments from those who weren’t as involved before (the City of Savannah for example).
We ask where the rest of the community is, when will they be “at the table”? Note: we have always said the entire community has a responsibility to end homelessness in our community, together!
Particularly missing so far is the homeless community itself!
We will seek to change that & expand the focus to those who are so affected by the lack of a Housing First solution in the plans, on the table & even understood & endorsed by the “provider” community missing from the equation!
